what do you think

It is interesting that these are the kind of pictures i had in my mind, growing up, of someone who was corrupt. Someone in authority with the instruments of power abusing resources for their own personal gain. Ofcourse in a child's mind you doesnt really think in this way. I just thought 'that man/woman is eating money'. One of my classmates raised an interesting point that teaching children about corruption from an early stage in an start of building a nation with intergrity. A former collegue and a soldier in the fight aganist corruption started a project where book covers were distributed to students/pupils and on these covers children were ways to recognise good and bad practices in schools like cheating. The encouragement of early teaching aganist practices of corruption is a good strategy in ensuring that we have a clean community

What a wonderful idea. As someone who has worked in child care & indeed with primary & high shcool aged children am very aware of just how much young minds absorb even when we don't think they are. Graphics are so powerful just look atthe impact the golden arches (McDonalds) has on young minds. We can not change the past but if we can learn from it great. We can educate the future the children in an attempt to stamp out corruption or any behaviour that we consider to be anti-social. In my books your friend goes to the top of the class for his wonderful book cover idea & to you for encouraging such creative thinking.

Hey thank you for responding to my post. I do agree with you on creating a clear thinking and ethically conscious people from childhood. Children are like sponges and since they are not rung out they retain what they are taught. It is important to teach them good values, ethics and responsibilities and it is on this premise that we will have a generation that values intergrity.

Yes, Sylvia, I agree that education against corruption should start early at school. And the education should reflect the true leader is servant rather than power seeker. I just read a video how a young boy in primary school in China desperately want to be the class monitor in order to control others to follow him. And his terrible father has assisted him by inviting his classmates for a day tour and offering them a small gift. What do you think our future will be if the children is growing up in that environment? I understand it is a challenging project but keep on your good work.
